A man who was injured in a 2013 car accident is suing the driver who rear-ended him.
R. Bruce Johnson filed a complaint July 23 in Madison County Circuit Court against William R. Presnell.
On July 24, 2013, Presnell and Johnson were driving their vehicles east on Highland Road in Madison County when Presnell rammed the back of Johnson's vehicle, causing him to suffer injuries, pain and suffering, and medical expenses.
The defendant is cited for negligence in failing to keep a proper lookout, apply his brakes in time, drive at a safe speed, reduce his speed, drive in a way to avoid hitting Johnson in the rear, exercise due care, and follow at a safe distance.
The plaintiff seeks damages of more than $50,000, plus costs.
