BELLEVILLE – A St. Clair County resident is suing over injuries that he says resulted from being struck by an allegedly drunk driver as he was walking across a road.

Jerry Michael Kritz filed the suit April 5 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Brahmanikrupa Inc., doing business as County Line Quick Shop and Countyline Quickshop.

On April 10, 2015, according to the complaint, the defendant sold or gave alcoholic liquor to a female, which she drank, resulting in intoxication, the suit alleges. After becoming intoxicated, she negligently drove her vehicle in such a manner that it allegedly struck the plaintiff while he was walking on Robin Court, the suit claims.

The plaintiff sustained injuries of a permanent and lasting nature, he will continue to spend money on medical care, he will continue to lose employment time and so will lose wages, and he will continue to be unable to tend to his normal affairs, the suit says.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant in excess of $50,000, plus court costs and other relief the court deems proper. He is represented by Mark C. Scoggins and Clay B. St. Clair of Crowder & Scoggins Ltd. in Columbia.
