Eric Jackson filed the suit April 1 in Madison County Circuit Court against Terry Michael Campbell and Byron L. Lang Inc., both of Jackson, Missouri.
On Jan. 6, 2014, the plaintiff was driving his vehicle on Interstate 255 at milepost 24, according to the suit, which says that at the same time, defendant Campbell, in the course of his employment with defendant Byron, was driving near the plaintiff and in the same direction.
As the plaintiff was attempting to exit to I-55/70 northbound he moved left because the exit lane was closed by emergency personnel. When he moved, the defendant Campbell allegedly hit his vehicle.
The defendant driver was allegedly negligent in causing the accident in the following ways: he was traveling too close to the plaintiff, was speeding and failed to reduce speed to avoid the collision, and he was inattentive to the snow and ice that caused a dangerous condition on the roadway.
The collision caused the plaintiff injuries to his back, he says. He allegedly experiences pain and is still receiving treatment.
The plaintiff seeks from both defendants judgment in excess of $50,000, prejudgment interest and other relief the court deems appropriate. He is represented by James W. Eason of The Eason Law Firm LLC in St. Louis.
