A woman is suing the driver who allegedly rear-ended her vehicle and caused her injury in 2013.
Jessica Williams filed a complaint July 21 in Madison County Circuit Court against Jacob Smith.
On Aug. 7, 2013, Williams was stopped in her vehicle at state Route 143 and Blackburn Road in Madison County when she was rear-ended by Smith's vehicle.
The defendant is cited with negligence for failing to reduce speed, yield the right of way, keep a proper lookout, obey the rules of the road, and exercise reasonable care.
As a result, the plaintiff suffered injury, disability, lost wages, pain and suffering, and medical expenses.
The plaintiff seeks damages of more than $50,000, plus costs.
The plaintiff is represented by Matthew P. Young of Keuhn, Beasley and Young PC in Belleville.
